Grade Level Representatives

Each grade at WMS has Grade Level Representatives - these are roles that operate like a Homeroom Mom / Dad, but you're in the role for the 3 years of WMS and you're responsible for the entire grade, not just one Homeroom.

To ensure that there is no perceived bias, each grade level usually has (at least) 4 representatives.  One from each sending Warren elementary school - ALT, Central, Mt Horeb & Woodland.  But remember we are all now WMS WOLVERINES!!!

These representatives are volunteers who either nominated themselves on the WMS SOS or were "volun-asked" to undertake this important role if no volunteer stepped up from their elementary school.  
In the unusual case of multiple offers of help we have a Nominations Committee.  

Responsibilities

This GLR team is responsible for overseeing the grade fundraising and activities for that grade, rallying troops and getting committees together to run and participate in the organization and running of events they plan and execute,  buying decorations, creating flyers to send out, announcing the events / determining the cost etc..- e.g., ice creams social, 6th grade bagel welcome, 6th / 7th and 8th grade Halloween / Fall social. Each grade level is expected to run at least one strong fundraiser each year to add to their 8th grade party pot. 

This all culminates in 8th-grade,  with the PTO-sponsored graduation celebration/ after-graduation party and other graduation goodies etc....

There are (hopefully still) opportunities for coordinating the sale of fundraising activities for each class such as specific pretzel day and ice-cream grade days.  This is also part of the role as this constitutes a large portion of the funds that the class raises to ensure money is available for 8th grade graduation party.

The GLR's do the planning for the grade activity but will be reaching out for support from parents where necessary to help with some of the activities that they will be working on for the kids.
